TV Director

Iraq 24 is seeking a professional TV Director to join its news and production team, to lead the visual and technical execution of news bulletins, programs, interviews, and live broadcasts according to high professional and production standards. The director will be responsible for managing the directing process from the control room, and coordinating between camera, sound, lighting, graphics, and production teams, to ensure the delivery of a cohesive and visually accurate television content on air. Responsibilities: - Directing news bulletins, programs, interviews, special coverage, and live broadcasts. - Leading the studio and control room team during recording and live broadcasting. - Selecting shots, managing transitions, camera movements, and the visual rhythm of the program. - Directing cameramen and technical teams and accurately implementing the directorial vision during broadcast. - Continuous coordination with the producer and editorial team to ensure the execution aligns with the content and editorial plan. - Managing graphics, video elements, and external sources, and ensuring their timely appearance. - Rapidly handling changes, breaking news, and unexpected technical situations during broadcast. - Supervising technical preparations, conducting rehearsals, and ensuring all production elements are ready before broadcast. - Maintaining visual consistency and professional rhythm of bulletins and programs in line with the channel's visual identity. - Contributing to the development of directing methods and visual templates for new programs and productions. Qualifications and Experience: - At least 3-5 years of practical experience in TV directing, preferably within a news channel or live broadcast environment. - Strong experience working in the control room (Control Room / PCR). - Advanced understanding of multi-camera production systems. - Good knowledge of the workflow between cameras, sound, lighting, graphics, and various video sources. - Strong visual sense and ability to build a cohesive television rhythm and make quick on-air decisions. - Ability to lead the team and communicate clearly and accurately during live broadcast conditions. - Ability to work under pressure and professionally handle breaking news and unplanned changes. - High skills in organization, communication, and teamwork. - It is preferred to attach a Showreel or samples of previous directorial work (Vimeo/YouTube/Google Drive link) when applying. Work System: - Daily shift of 8 hours, with the possibility of working morning or evening shifts according to the work system and the needs of the newsroom and broadcast. - Contract type and probation period: 3 months.
