Quality Manager for Steel and Rolling Mills

Noor Al Maydan Company - Basra - Khor Al Zubair announces its need for a Quality Manager for Steel and Rolling Mills, to supervise the quality of raw materials, manufacturing processes, and final products, and to ensure the compliance of reinforcing steel with approved specifications, in coordination with production departments and affiliated units. Tasks and Responsibilities: ▪️ Prepare and implement inspection and testing plans for raw materials, smelting, continuous casting, rolling, and final product stages. ▪️ Supervise laboratories and chemical and mechanical tests, and monitor the dimensions, weights, and surface quality of reinforcing steel. ▪️ Follow up on product compliance with Iraqi and approved specifications, and issue inspection reports and certificates. ▪️ Apply the tracking system for heats, billets, and final products, and control the handling of non-conforming products. ▪️ Analyze manufacturing defects and quality complaints, and coordinate with production and maintenance to address their causes. ▪️ Follow up on the calibration of measuring and testing devices, and develop the performance of the quality team and laboratories. Required Qualifications and Experience: • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. • Specialized practical experience in quality management in iron and steel and rolling mills, especially in the production of reinforcing steel. • Knowledge of smelting, continuous casting, and rolling processes, and the impact of operating variables on product quality. • Familiarity with reinforcing steel specifications and methods of sampling and chemical and mechanical testing. • Ability to lead a team, analyze test results, and make technical decisions related to quality.
